AEC takes delivery of Box Shaped Open Hatch vessel
AEC continue to be active with vessels transactions and during the first week of December a Japanese Double Hull Open Hatch Box Shaped Bulk Carrier entered into the AEC fleet in Vancouver, Canada.
The vessel is built in 2006 with 37,504 mts deadweight and has 36 mts cranes. On delivery the vessel entered into a long term Time Charter to a third party.
All owned vessels in the AEC fleet have Double Hulls, which do not only improve the general safety, but also reduce the vessels’ holds maintenance and result in faster, easier and less expensive hold cleaning between cargoes.
The fact that some of the AEC vessels are Open Hatch and fully Box Shaped makes AEC a player in the General and Project Cargo markets as well and furthermore create better flexibility and the possibility of better financial returns.
