Launching of the first AEC New Building

On the 12nd of September the naming and launching ceremony of AEC’s first New Building, MV AEC Ability, took place at Naikai Zosen Corporation’s shipyard in Innoshima, Japan.

MV AEC Ability is 37,860 mt DWAT on an amazing shallow draft of 10 meters SW only and has all the latest ECO features including Electronic Main Engine.

Mrs. Raquel Carolina Bellani, the Godmother of the vessel, performed the Christening in front of the attending delegation including Mr. Neil McLaughlin from DVB Bank.

The vessel rolled in the water the traditional and old fashion way.

CEO of AEC, Mr. Lars-Peter Madsen, praised the close relationship between Naikai Zosen and AEC, and the high building quality of the yard, in a speech held during the ceremony lunch that followed the launching.

AEC going strong in Texas

AEC is extending the shipping program from Texas being the most active region for the company during 2014.

About 30,000 mt of Petroleum Coke was loaded on MV Delta, a 34,175 mt DWAT modern Bulk Carriers Built 2012, at the KM Deepwater Terminal (KinderMorgan) in Houston. The cargo is destined for Tunesia.

Apart of the traditional North and South American cross trading, this underlines AEC’s ability to constantly offer competitive freight coverage for transatlantic routes to its core customers.

AEC’s Japanese New Building program well under way

AEC fleet expansion program, with first class Japanese double-hull ECO vessels, is well on the way with the first launching taken place this month of September.

‘We are really exited about the quality, design and size of our new vessels, which we believe will be the new standard in our segment. These vessels are superior in all respects, have high liquidity and great earning potential’ says CEO Lars-Peter Madsen

AEC has only been dealing with first class Japanese yards, which also means that the New Building program is right on schedule without any surprises.
