Soya Beans are shipped by AEC from the U.S. East Coast to Venezuela

AEC’s period vessel MV Assimina II, a 30,540 dwat Trader Type Built 2007, loaded a cargo of Soya Beans at Norfolk, Virginia, U.S.A. for account Agri Commodity Trade.

The cargo was loaded with spout at the Perdue Terminal. The vessel arrived Vennezeula in the beginning of February for discharging.

AEC Charter yet another NYK vessel for the cargo program

 AEC chartered NYK’s MV Atlantic Laurel (33,271 dwat Built Hakodate 2012) to carry a full cargo of petcoke from Port Arthur, USA to Barra de Coqueiros, Brazil.

Upon arrival discharging port, AEC will fit their grabs on the vessel to discharge the cargo. With decades of inhouse experience with this trade and it’s requirements, AEC will be a prefered carrier for Charterers having such cargoes.

 

 

AEC loads DDGS in Mississippi River

With the sailing of MV Lone Star from the Mississippi River, on the 7th of January 2013, AEC has loaded their first DDGS cargo (Destillers Dried Grains with Solubles). DDGS is a by-product from the corn fermentation process and is used as animal feed.

The cargo of 26,200 mts was loaded alongside the Cooper Consolidated floating rig ‘America’ on MV Lone Star (34,748 dwat Built 2012) moored at CC Mile 179. The cargo is destined for an Eastern Mediterranean port.

MV Lonestar is on time charter from ADM (Archer Daniels Midland Company).

Addition to AEC’s Operations Team

AEC has engaged Mr. Vaibhav Mehta (Vic) as Operator.

Mr. Mehta comes with a years of experience with Drycargo operational work from one of the worlds largests shipowner/operator NYK (Nippon Yusen Kaisha) and will work from AEC’s Bahamas office.

“We are pleased with the addition to our Operations team which goes hand in hand with AEC’s general activity expansion”, says CEO Lars-Peter Madsen. “Vic is adding further knowledge and experience to our company as a whole but is also expected to provide the internal synergies we are aiming for.”

AEC finish the year of 2012 with high activity

AEC ended 2012 on a ‘busy note’ shipping Corn Argentina/Morocco, Agriproducts Argentina/Peru, Grains Black Sea/Spain, various wheat shipments Argentina/Brazil, Byproducts Miss River/Turkey, Time Charter Mediterranean/India etc.

AEC has obtained the further expected solid foothold in the Drybulk market via the vast experience contained in the company and the worldwide industry network. 2013 will be an interesting year where the volume is expected to increase considerably and where there will be sharp focus on possible mergers and/or acquisitions.

AEC takes modern Handysize Period Charter

MV Marcarolina, a modern 35,000 mt dwat double-hull box hold craned bulker built 2010, is chartered by AEC for on Period Charter.

She delivered to AEC in South Korea at the end of November and is presently employed carrying steel products. MV Marcarolina fits nicely into the AEC fleet of modern Handysize vessels.

 

 

AEC takes delivery of MV Four Aida for long Period Charter

Joining AEC’s modern Handysizes fleet, MV Four Aida delivered the 4th of October 2012. The modern SPP design of MV Four Aida, with good Eco speed/consumption, shallow Draft and great Cubic, makes the vessel a good match for AEC’s forward cargo program.

Steel scrap is shipped from Continent to Turkey by AEC

AEC completed the discharging of 34,200 mts steel scrap at Karabiga, Turkey after a smooth sea voyage via the Strait of the Dardanelles. The cargo had been loaded in Dordrecht and Amsterdam, Holland for account Euro-Scrap Alliance BV, The Netherlands.

The performing vessel was the Handymax MV Monica P (45,667 dwat/Built 1998/ 4 x 30 mt cranes).

 

AEC ships Phosrock for Vale Fertilizantes S.A.

 By mid July 2012 AEC loaded about 27,400 mts of bulk Phosrock (also called Phosphate Rock) on MV Aktea R at Puerto Boyovar, Peru for account Vale Fertilizantes S.A.

The vessel went through the Panama Canal on the 19th July and discharged part of the cargo at Maceio, North Brazil and discharging of the balance of the cargo was completed by the 16th of August in Rio Grande, South Brazil.

Expansion of AEC’s chartering arm

 Effective from the 1st of August 2012 AEC has engaged Mr. Jesper Lollesgaard as Chartering Manager. Mr. Lollesgaard comes with decades of Drybulk Chartering experience and will work from London.
