AEC signs additional New Building contract at a first class Japanese Shipyard
On the 9th of April 2014 AEC signed another Shipbuilding Contract with a first class Japanese Shipyard marking the conclusion of the first phase of the company’s fleet development.
‘We feel that our timing has been good and that AEC’s Owned Fleet of seven Japanese Eco Double Hull Bulk Carriers will be excellent in combination with our Time Chartered Fleet’ says Mr Thomas Mayr from AEC’s S&P Department.
‘Our focus on vessels within a segment where AEC has very strong commercial ties and relationships, will for sure prove to be the right move. Our focus has constantly been on getting vessels with the right specifications in accordance with our in-house knowledge that comes from decades of profound industry experience’ says Mr Claas Grafe, Chartering Manager at AEC, Bahamas.
The Group will get the first Japanese New Building in November 2014 and already have two owned second hand Japanese Double-Hull/Box/Open Hatch Handysize vessels in service.
